4-day Mount Meru climb itinerary:
Day 1: Momella Gate (1,500m) to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)

Drive to Arusha National Park: After breakfast, drive to Momella Gate for registration and park formalities.

Start the trek: Begin your hike through the lush rainforest, where you may spot wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys.

Ascend to Miriakamba Hut: The trail gradually climbs through open grasslands and montane forest.

Hiking time: 4-6 hours.

Overnight: Stay at Miriakamba Hut, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570m)

Early start: After breakfast, begin the steep ascent through the forest and into the alpine zone.

Arrive at Saddle Hut: Reach Saddle Hut by midday, where you’ll have lunch and rest.

Summit attempt: Start your climb around 1:00-2:00 AM. The trail is steep and rocky, with some scrambling sections.

Reach Socialist Peak: Watch the sunrise from the summit, with breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro, the Meru Crater, and the surrounding plains.

Descend to Miriakamba Hut: After summiting, return to Saddle Hut for a short rest, then continue descending to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.
